Find a Popular Video Relevant to Your Niche

Go to YouTube and do a search relevant to your niche by typing the words in the search box at the top of the page. You ideally want to see the most viewed video in this field so now change the search results criteria by going into “search options”, and clicking on “videos” and “View Count”. Now you will have a list of videos with the most viewed being on the top of your list. Now, let’s use this to our own advantage.

Watch the Videos

Watch some of the videos from the first page in your search and find one most relevant to what you are advertising with your video marketing campaign. You will find that the video you choose to have piggybacked you will have a lot of comments, and also many with a URL. Good work, but you want to stand out from the rest, making your efforts attract prospects to your site. Here is how I achieve this.

Place a Video Response

Very similar to posting a comment, just click on “attach a video” which will take you to another page where you can either upload your video from your hard drive or record a video from your webcam. On the description of your video, begin with your URL; upload your video comment, that’s it! Simple! Now your video is up the top of all the comments to this widely viewed video, ready to be watched by thousands, also attracting these viewers to your site.

1. Do Your Keyword Research

Keyword research is a vital aspect when it comes to generating free traffic using search engine optimization. Targeting the wrong keywords can make your SEO campaign go terribly wrong. You will end up throwing away your valuable time put into getting your site to rank as this can result in the search engines, and, your customers not finding you at all.

I assume that some or all of your keywords are already in your site content if you did your keyword research correctly. Once you have all your free forms up and running it is time to double your advertising efforts and put in the same amount of hard work into your paid forms as you have done with your free ones. Some paid methods that I use are;

1-Google Ad words

2-Yahoo Pay Per Click

Both Yahoo and Google offer similar services but cost is vastly different. When you consider that Google has 80 per cent of the search engine market, then you can see why the expense can be greater. Once again I go into great detail about Google Adwords in articles on my blogpage. Very important to master this form of paid advertising if you want success online.

3-Paid Banner Advertising (This involves placing a banner relating to your website on another popular site which you pay money to in return for clicks on that banner).

4-Newspaper ads (Both online and traditional forms)

5-Brochures, Pamphlets and Business Cards

6-Email distributors (Blast out 20000 emails every two days with target driven emails).

1 – Free Classifieds.

I use craigslist to advertise my online business to cities in almost all areas of the world for free and I have found this to be a fantastic way to promote my website. Your ad remains online monthly and you have to keep tabs on this to update it or else it is removed from the site. You can only upload ads every second day. I also use video classified sites where you can promote your business with a video as well as a written description. Sites such as hotpluto are free and very worthwhile.

2 – Social Networking

Social networking is becoming extremely important when it comes to advertising your website, product or service. Joining groups with a similar interest is a fantastic way of building up your email list which in turn you can send content to about your related issues. Facebook,twitter etc are two hugely popular social networking sites.

3 – Blogging

I have found my blog pages to be y hub where I can keep all my videos, articles, photos etc in one place for people to view. By keeping everything in one place I can also direct people to my blog page where they can access all my content. A great tool to have. I  have a blog on blogger, betternetworker, livevideo as well as a few others. They all offer different services and reach different audiences so it is worthwhile to have a few. Be sure to also join blog directories such as technorati where you can register your blog and make it easier for people to find.

4 – Articles

Writing articles relating to your product or service is a fantastic way of reaching a wide ranging audience. I aim to write 2 articles a day relating to my business and distribute them to my blogs and a wide range of article sites using article distribution software. 5 – Videos

As with articles I aim to produce 2 videos per day and then distribute them using tubemogul which is a free video distribution service. Your videos can also be shortened, lengthened, edited and tweaked in different ways so you can use one video a few times in different ways. There are many successful techniques when it comes to producing videos and a few not so successful ones. Be sure, once again to check out my blog, so I can go into this further with you.

Titles

An eye catching title is the make or break of the number of views your video receives. YouTube users usually browse around and click on the videos which interest them, the only selling point your video has at this stage is the title so don’t underestimate it.

When you are choosing your title, don’t make it too long and consider using words like Exclusive! Don’t Miss! Or Must See! Another good tip when choosing a title is to use a question which will be answered in your video, the human brain can not let questions go unanswered.

Descriptions

Descriptions are another important factor in gaining more YouTube views because they give people information about your video. In order to maximize views you will need to give an accurate description of your video. Make your description short and informative, you can even place your link in your description to gain more traffic to your site.

Keywords

In order for your video to be found by users you must be using your keywords efficiently, when a user searches for something, if your keywords are amongst those words then your video will show up in the search. Therefore put down as many descriptive keywords which relate to your video as possible, maximizing your viewers. Use long tail and short tail keywords.

Quality of Video

The quality of your video most important, if the quality is no good, nobody wants to watch it. Its as simple as that. If its great quality people will watch it over and over, even inviting friends to watch it , attracting more views. If your video quality is not the best you can add &fmt=18 to the end of video url to make it better quality. You will also want to make sure that the content of the video is good quality too. Make it short, informative and attractive. Don’t ramble on for 5 minutes because people cant be bothered to watch long boring videos.

YouTube Friends

YouTube friends can get you more views and subscribers. Add as many friends as you can (20-40 per day) and before you know you will have loads of friends who become subscribers and view your videos.

When you have a lot of friends, people who visit your channel see this and are more inclined to view your videos and add you as a friend aswell.

In summary, if you are after more subscribers you need to post regular, good quality videos and basically do all of the above! This does not happen overnight but with consistency you can raise your number of views and subscribers dramatically within a few months. These tips will help you to gain more YouTube views and subscribers when used with persistence and consistency.

1. 1.    Upload a Wide Variety of Videos

Uploading videos on just one topic can be boring to viewers and you will only be attracting the same people with every upload. Do different topics, and subjects that are commonly searched.  If you are marketing a product or service using YouTube there are still lots of ways to make your videos different from others, to target a wider variety of people.

1. 2.    Get Involved

Watch videos, comment on them and rate them. Say something nice about other people’s videos, be a part of the YouTube community. This will encourage others to want to subscribe to your account.

1. 3.    Advertise Your Channel

Watch videos which are related to your video topics and comment, while advertising at the same time. Say something like, ‘Great video, very informative. I also have some tips on the same subject in my video “_______”’

1. 4.    Offer a ‘Trade’

Go to a popular person’s YouTube Channel and simply comment “sub 4 sub?’ This basically means you subscribe to them in exchange of them subscribing to you. May sound a little desperate but it works, and in most cases the other person wants YouTube subscribers as much as you do.

1. 5.    Subscribe to Yourself!

Create a heap of different accounts and subscribe them all to your main YouTube account. Once you have a lot of subscribers (even if they are just you), you will find that others will subscribe to your YouTube channel too. This really works!

In summary, these tips are free and easy, and they really work. There are also paid forms designed to assist you in getting YouTube subscribers if you have the money to spare, but with these tips who needs them!

My 2 previous instalments on online business tips spoke about article marketing and article distribution, so in this article I would like to talk about another form of internet marketing I use which has given me the greatest amount of success, and that is video marketing. Videos are huge. If you had the choice of reading this article or watching the video on it, I bet you would choose the video. Me too and it is quicker to make then writing an article. All jokes aside I have found video marketing to be the number 1 tool in my free marketing campaign and continue to use it to full effect as we speak.

First of all you need to record your video. When starting out I believe it is best to produce an introduction video, not a video about your online business or on internet marketing but a video about yourself. This should also be your easiest topic to cover as it is all about YOU. Start with your name and where you are from, followed by a brief summary of who you are, your interests, how you came to be where you are now etc (If your stuck for ideas check out my introduction video on you tube channel kellycurmi). Keep your videos to 3-4 minute durations in the beginning, making sure you are not dragging things out and becoming boring. Keep your first introduction videos short, sharp and fresh.

Using video as one of your platforms gives the viewer a chance to connect with you as a person as well as listen to what you have to say. My advice is to make video marketing one of your key areas and techniques you are going to master for your online business success. Some key points to remember include:

1. A catchy title with related keywords in the title as well.

1. Quality content. Make sure you are giving the viewer something worthwhile.

1. Come up with a video campaign. For example a series on forms of marketing, tips and techniques on advertising methods. A good form of video series is the 10 by 10 by 4 method. 10 videos on questions most frequently asked, 10 questions you should have answered but hadn’t thought to ask and 4 videos on the business opportunity that you have become involved in. This is a proven marketing method followed by some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the industry.

1. Bring up your keywords throughout the dialogue in the video to reinforce your message and help with your search engine ranking.
